Why Success Markets

Our aim is to promote the existence of actual markets in which successful results of human assistance programs are:

  • FUNDED:  Programs that create a lot of value for disadvantaged people at low cost and risk receive priority funding, relative to less-effective programs
  • QUANTIFIED:  Real life improvements realized by those in need on account of human assistance programs are measured and quantified in standard, comparable ways
  • PRICED:  Costs of achieving these improvements are separately quantified.  We recognize that two significant barriers to the value-driven approach we champion are the very high cost of benefits-per-cost assessments and the absence of commonly accepted metrics.  We take aim at both impediments by performing assessments at cost and accuracy levels appropriate to the situation and funding levels and by using metrics that can be applied uniformly across programs.
