We use and advocate the use of three metrics for analyzing any charitable or other social program:

Social Return on Investment - How much value is created for identified, low-income beneficiaries and society per funding dollar?

Degree of Need: What is the likely degree of need absent intervention by the evaluated program?

Degree of Risk: What is the risk that the SROI estimates are based on faulty estimates or assumptions (i.e., what is the margin of error)? What is the risk that the program will not produce expected outcomes?
